FMP

While i have been researching into the whole gaming culture for my FMP. I kinda went off on a tangent and came across some really weird videos. Some describe the reality behind the games im study but this video in general, just proves the effects games have on people and their emotions. This also shows how the sitter may act upon a fictional event. I don't know weather it is that the sitter (gamer) is pissed off with the fact another sitter somewere in the world has killed his figure making him a bette-r killer or wether the sitter feels indestructable as his alter ego doesn't live up to his standards.

PRINT

Recently iv been printing like crazy, i want to back up most of my images to hard copies. You can never tell how good an image until it has been printed ( in my view). Still trying to research for my FMP but its getting harder and harder every day now.

I realise i haven't posted 'words' in a while, but basically i have nothing to say. Which is quite worrying because i usually talk too much. I am planning a big shoot with the sketches, I also want to start focusing on taking loads more portraits.

On the way home i couldn't stop looking at how huge the tree's are around my area, they were covering street lamps and signposts. The light gave the leaves a mysterious almost sinister glow.

Good news - im posting a blog

Bad news - i have noting to blog.

Its the Easter break and i have noting to talk about, i haven't had any inspiration or really taken any pictures that have inspired me to take more. I hoping to take some portraits later on today which i don't know how they will turn out ( if they ever happen).

A few images above are a couple of random shots that i have taken while at home.

FMP ; Escapist

This video is most of my final images up to date. I happy with a few of them but i need to edit more and keep producing more.

The whole project is about how people escape from their lives and my influence is through the gaming world. The project involves myself so i can relate to the subject well, i am myself a gaming addict ( i no, i no geek) , but also their are a lot of other ways people escape from their lives through, movies, soaps, TV, books and internet worlds. My subject was sparked from the game Call of Duty- Modern warfare. It is a first person shooter, developed by Infinity ward.

I stumbled across Alenan Nikiforova, her work is heavily manipulated and the women have been airbrushed to the max. But i really like the colour and contentious use of, what it looks like 'milk' . The figures also look so fake and in a number of the shots ( not displayed) the figures don't respond to the liquid been thrown at them, adding to the element that they are fake.

I really don't know where i am going with photography. Everything i want to do want pay well or will be sooooo hard to get into. I really have to push my portfolio and portraiture. I want to start setting myself tasks and practicing lighting set ups that i have not attempted before.

Metamorphosis

This is series of mine, i have recently been feeling a bit different about myself. Elements are cropping up now . What do i do after university? this is the big question that is getting to me, having the lack of energy is heightening this saddened emotion. I wanted to shoot a series of self portraits that captured my inner emotions and feelings. ( sounds abit deep, sure il be fine after a night sleep, must be one of those days).

I wanted to use a limited amount of light as if it was painting my body and the less the viewer saw the more detail it gave.

I am in a bit of a creative rutt at the moment. I want to take photos mainly portraits but i don't have the energy to do things. I am usually the opposite i run around too much and get tied just before bed. iv yawned at least 5 times writing these 3 lines, i don't get whats going on. Maybe im ill or need more sleep for some reason, (yawn number 6) i belive a power nap will solve all my problems.

Iv been looking into Todd Hido again, his images just inspire me so much, i love his use of natural light when taken portraiture and how distant his sitter looks, its is almost a cacoon of her self we are seeing.
